I absolutely love my pen necklace. It's so convenient in the office.
However, it's not without its faults: the black finger-grip part is wearing off. The gold is showing through. It only took about a week of use for the color to come off.
Second, it gave me a really bad rash on my neck, in an exact arch where the chain lies. I'm not allergic to any metals I know of, and it started when I got this. It might be crappy cheap metal or the abrasion on the chain on my neck skin, but either way, the pen caused it. I'm going to be replacing the chain with something better so it'll go away.
The pen is hella cute and I get nothing but compliments on it.

Wonderful! Looks just like the one Joan wears on Mad Men. Very high quality, and writes smoothly. Comes with a blue ballpoint ink cartridge, and can easily be refilled with new cartridges as needed.
Comfortable to wear and very stylish. I plan to wear this on my first day of work at the new job I'm starting soon, in fact. I only wish I had a dark blue "Joan" dress to wear, too!
This is definitely not some cheap costume piece; you won't be disappointed by this item.

I'm not sure why the previous commenter had trouble with the company - I ordered mine and had it in 2 days (with free Prime shipping). I love it! I am a teacher and I'm always in need of a pen. No more fumbling around in a big bag or desk drawer for me - I always have a pen handy! Plus, it's pretty and very vintage-looking. My local OfficeMax stocks replacement ink cartridges that fit, so I'll be using this for a long time!

This is a nice writing pen but not the same style Joan Holloway has on the show Mad Men. Joan's pen is a bit smaller and has the tip on the end. This pen is a closed cap pen with no visible retractable (twist) tip like the one on Mad Men. It is a pretty gold tone finish and the service was good on the item. But it's not like the one Joan has. The size is a bit bulky for wearing as jewelry. The old vintage jewelry pens were a lot less intrusive looking.

I love this pen and so does everyone who sees me wearing it it comes with blue ink, so i went to staples and got some black in inkstead. it's a bit hard to find a filler that fits without opening any boxes (i had a lovely employee help me) but otherwise, it's just perfect. i imagine most people won't be as particular with their ink as i was.
